1932 Chrysler Imperial Custom Eight

In 1932 Chrysler updated their Series CG Chrysler Imperial Eight into the Series CL Imperial Custom Eight. This flagship model was the longest produced in 1932 alongside the shorter Series CH, CP, and CI models.

The 1932 Chrysler received numerous styling upgrades but kept the conventional straight-8 engine and solid-axle suspension from previous years.

Distinct to the 1932 series was a new ‘de Sakhnoffsky’ false hood that extended all the way to base of the front windshield. The hood also featured sliding doors instead of the louvres used just a year earlier.

The Series CL Imperial Custom could be ordered in six different bodystyles from the factory including a Phaeton, Close-Coupled Sedan, 7-Passenger Sedan, Limousine, Covertible Roadster and Convertible Sedan.

With a limited market, the Cl was only sold in 1932 and 1933 with production reaching about 220 cars.
